A very popular event at the Sunflower Balloon Fest each year is the F-4 Phantom jet flighFlight Simulatort simulator.  The F-4D Phantom II was a twin-engine, all-weather, fighter-bomber.  First used by the Navy as an interceptor, it was also used as a ground-support bomber for the Marine Corps. The Phantom was the first multiservice aircraft, flying con-currently with the Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.  It is the first and only aircraft ever to be flown con-currently by both the Blue Angels and the Thunder-birds.  Used extensively in the Vietnam War, it went out of production in 1979.   The flight simulator will be on display and rides will be available at the airport on Saturday, May 7.
